When classic recipes meet modern storytelling, something truly sweet happens. A local favorite, Thelma’s partnered with Trilix to design a playful microsite that shares the story behind Great-Grandma Thelma’s famous snickerdoodles and how the brand has expanded to offer multiple ice cream sandwich flavors found in freezers nationwide.

To celebrate Thelma’s history in a fresh way, the team created a short, fully animated video at the heart of the site that highlights the brand’s warmth and nostalgia. A mouthwatering 3D snickerdoodle rendering and other fun touches showcase the personality and taste fans love — making the narrative as irresistible as the treats themselves.

Launched just in time for the Iowa State Fair, the microsite reached ice cream sandwich enthusiasts with QR codes placed throughout the event grounds. Fairgoers could scan the codes to learn about Thelma’s story and find where to buy their favorites. They could also enjoy the new lemon blueberry option while at the event. Looking ahead, these QR codes will appear on packaging, delivery vehicles and more — continuing to grow awareness well beyond the fair.

The project was a truly collaborative effort between the Thelma’s and Trilix teams to ensure every element of the site captured the brand’s charm and appeal, in addition to Great-Grandma Thelma’s heartwarming story. The launch has received enthusiastic feedback, helping connect with dedicated fans and introduce cookie lovers from across the country and beyond.

Check out the microsite to see the storytelling magic and find your favorite ice cream sandwich near you.
