When it comes to agency life, this is not Megan Stelter’s first rodeo. After graduating from Iowa State University, Megan joined the Trilix team and held multiple titles during her tenure, including communications specialist, social media manager and digital communications manager. After a few years’ departure, she has returned to Trilix as an account manager to support our clients — some familiar to her and some new. Get to know Megan, our “not-so-new” team member.

What is your favorite aspect about the job?

The relationship-building. I enjoy networking, meeting new people and finding common ground with others. I love getting to know people, understanding how they thrive/like to work, establishing trust and then building the relationship, whether that’s with a client or co-worker. I’m a people person, and I like being able to solve problems for a living.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies or unique talents?

My hobbies would include chauffeuring my 3-year-old to her activities, spending time outside, traveling, seeing live music, hanging out with our two dogs — Jax and Colby, and spending any spare time we have with our friends and family.

Tell us about your life outside of work! Any family?

I am an Iowan — born and raised! My husband Tim and I have one daughter, Collins, who we call “Coco,” and she turned 3 in October. She started preschool, tumbling and swimming lessons this year, so the craziness has just begun!

What was a social media trend when you first began working at Trilix?

Social media was still gaining speed in 2013. TikTok wasn’t a thing, Snapchat was just coming out and Instagram was only then becoming popular. The “in” thing for everyone using Instagram was the Valencia filter, which dated your pics with almost a vintage look and an off-yellow hue. Everyone’s feeds looked the same (a lot of nature and food pictures). It’s a bit cringey digging back in the archives and seeing those early days.

What would be your superpower and why?

Reading minds. I like to think I’m a good judge of what people are feeling and good at reading energies and emotions. Being able to know for sure would be cool.

If you could do any other kind of work, what would it be?

I would own my own home organization business. I love being neat and orderly (most of the time) and would love to help others do the same for their homes.

What motivates you at work?

Solving problems for others. Whether that be a client or a co-worker, I’m a helper, and anything I can do to take something off someone’s plate to make their life easier motivates me and makes me happy. Additionally, seeing projects come to fruition and clients being happy with the result makes everything worth it!
